The very fast cycle time and electronic switching
performed by AM Series Solid State Relays can significantly extend
the life of electric heaters. Thermal expansion and contraction
of the element is reduced because temperatures are typically
more stable about the set point. This phenomenon is "Metal
Fatigue" and is generally the "wearing out" process
of electric heaters. In all applications using any type of relay
device, a high limit control and contactor is recommended for
protection. Proper heat sink is required as indicated. AM Series
Solid State Relays are also available for switching 3 phase loads
up to 55 amps. A built-in LED indicates power to the load.
